     About PBAN

The Promoters & Builders Association Nashik was founded in 1987 with a view to represent the organized sector of developers of Nashik. The old perception of builders in the eyes of the government and the public was sought to be put in the right perspective through the efforts of the association.

The past presidents of the association, Mr. Rameshwar Sarda, Jitendra Thakker, Nemichand Poddar, Sadashiv Shukla & Vijay Sanklecha worked tirelessly in this direction. As a result of the organized professional approach to the trade, a situation has now evolved where giant financial institutions seat their representative in offices of builders; to who even customer’s application forms were denied a decade ago. This speaks volumes for the efforts of the past presidents and managing committees of the association.

PBAN was instrumental in the formation of such associations in other cities and towns of Maharashtra, leading to the formation of Federation of Promoters & Builders of Maharashtra (FPBAM). FPBAM seeks to represent the interests of the developers at the state government level. In 1998, FPBAM organized a national level convention “Housing – The Challenges & Solutions” at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi with Mr. Ram Jethmalani, the then Urban Development Minister, as Chief Patron. Inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and addressed by the then Finance Minister Shri Yashwant Sinha, the conference marked the first recognition to the housing sector in five decades of independence. The conference lead to the formation of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI); which has strived and succeeded in the central government according priority status to housing in the last few years. Nashik, incidentally, is also the birth place of CREDAI.

Promoters & Builders Association Nashik has been at the forefront in protecting the interests of the developers and the customers. The liasioning with the government and local body is PBANs is the prime responsibility towards its members. And ensuring transparent deals and integrity is its prime responsibility towards customers and Society.

The association has over the years expanded its field of operation and activities. It now regularly holds property and building material exhibitions, both in and outside Nashik. Technical seminars and workshops are also held for the benefit of the members. Leading experts from related fields guide the members at such sessions. Various committees work on each business related issue.

The association has also taken a lead in bringing about professionalism in the trade. It aims to bring about a qualitative change in the perception of the construction community. A model code of conduct has been adopted and implemented by the members. Each member is governed by the code; and the association strives to make sure the members follow the code in letter and spirit. Just in the rare case of any consumer having a complaint against the association member, the association has a grievance redressed cell; where complaints can be lodged. Until date, all such complaints have been amicably resolved.

Applications for new memberships are thoroughly scrutinized. Ultimately, PBAN aims to stand guarantee all the properties and services offered by its members. Towards this, we have also recently implemented a model agreement for sale; which more than takes care of the customer’s rights and interests. While doing all this, PBAN also strives to fulfill its social obligation. The development and beautification of the garden in the Collectors compound and the hosting of the conference “My City … My Vision” are steps towards partial fulfillment of these obligations.
